I'd been living for nearly 6 months in a small town in the countryside about 4 hours north of Haerbin, living on rice, barbeque and cheap beer. To say I was hanging out for a western-food indulgence on a much anticipated visit to Haerbin would be understating somewhat. I don't recall how any more I just remember arriving at Hamama's one cold morning and falling in love. This was the "old" Hamama's, now just a footnote in history and nowhere near as nice as the "new" Hamama's. The service is always friendly (which makes up for it not always being speedy), the portions are generous, the quality is good and the taste is great. Crusty bread rolls, real cheese, and coffee at a reasonable price - with half priced refills. The place can be "standing room only" at lunchtime - and the daily specials can go fast! It's a regular relaxing and refreshing spot for me and I recommend it to all my friends traveling to Haerbin.
